Atlanta Flooring Project: Hawks Practice Facility

For the past 50 years, The Atlanta Hawks organization has been and continues to be a vital part of the Atlanta, Georgia community. With a foundation geared toward increasing access for Atlanta’s youth to play, grow, and learn life and leadership through basketball, the Hawks are devoted to building a better community both on and off the basketball court. Impressively reaching the playoffs each of the last ten seasons, the Hawks remain committed to making Atlantans proud through hard work, stellar play, and the goal of one day introducing the city of Atlanta to an NBA championship.

In November of 2017, this goal took a giant leap in the right direction by introducing the team to a one-of-a-kind, 90,000-square-foot practice space combined with a high-performance training facility and a public sports-medicine center managed by Emory Healthcare.

Solutions to Challenges Faced in this Unique Atlanta Flooring Project

In addition to our flooring expertise, we are also skilled in a wide array of other construction facets such as waterproofing and moisture mitigation.

For this particular project, we completely waterproofed two steam rooms, as well as tiled the entirety of the rooms from floor to ceiling. Two pools, one hot and one cold, were also completely waterproofed and tiled which runs from the bottom of the pool to around twenty feet up the walls with 1×1 thin trim pieces installed to mesh with the large format tile that was used throughout the entire pool area.

Next, we installed over 3,000-square-feet of thin brick with Rope in all of the shower areas which adhered to the shower walls.

Moving into the players’ locker room and custom kitchen, our team installed custom carpet with the Hawks logo as well as custom marble herringbone tile in each area, respectively.
