Washington Flooring Project: Northern Heights Elementary School

Northern Heights Elementary School, located in the district of “Bellingham School District” in Bellingham, Washington, services grades PK through 5th and “provides a balanced, engaging, and comprehensive education that prepares all students for success as global citizens.” As part of this initiative, the school wanted to welcome its students back from summer vacation in style by renovating its facility in order to give them a fresh, new, and exciting approach to the start of the 2019 school year.

About the Project: Matching Design With Performance

As the primary flooring provider of the nearly $307-thousand-dollar project, Spectra was brought on board in June of 2019 to provide all flooring for classrooms, administration offices, library, gymnasium, and staff bathrooms — over 36,000 square feet in total. Products consisted of Shaw Diffuse 24″ x 24″ Carpet Tile, Shaw Path 24″ x 24″ Entry Carpet Tile, Shaw Inspire 12″ x 24″ LVT, Shaw BassTones Sheet Vinyl, Forbo Flotex, and Roppe Base/Transitions.

Project Demands and Solutions

Project demands included a strict installation schedule that needed to be completed by August of 2019 — just in time for students to arrive. To combat this issue, we had installation crews of 5-7 workers present at all times throughout the day — ensuring that the deadline would be secured!
