LEED Rating System Version 3

LEED version 3 launched in April 2009. All projects registered for LEED certification after 26 June 2009 will have to be certified under the new more stringent rating systems. LEED version 3 has the following rating systems:

LEED for New Construction and Major Renovations
LEED for Core and Shell
LEED for Schools
LEED for Healthcare
LEED for Retail
LEED for Commercial Interiors
LEED for Retail Interiors
LEED for Existing Buildings
LEED for Existing Schools

Please note that each LEED rating system will have some overlapping point values, but it is important to note that a LEED AP should be consulted to insure that your project is registered under the most appropriate rating system. Using the LEED for New Construction and Major Renovations as the most universal rating system pertinent to the Commercial Flooring Industry, below is summary of the version 3 categories.

• Sustainable Sites (SS)
• Water Efficiency (WE)
